Pray 08:00
How does that affect you? What’s the meaning for you? So, meaning is...that’s what this whole thing is about... And that’s what the gift of this religion is, it gives meaning. People––the non–well, like some of the Atheist people, Not Christians, ‘cause Christians believe in meaning also, But some of the Atheist they say: “Oh, Religion is just a way for people to find meaning.” Exactly, we totally agree with you. Really. We agree with you Because they say this is all meaningless, but we don’t believe that, because we know and experience and taste meaning, and we know that it’s real, it’s real– All this other stuff is not real, but meaning is real That is what’s real about the world and the greatest meaning...the highest معنة (ma'na = meaning) in the world...is the message of الله (Allah) So ان شاء الله (In sha' allah = God willing) make this a blessed trip for all of you may it be a trip of immense meaning, may it be meaningful for you, and may our hearts be open to meaning may الله سبحانه وتعالى (Allah subhana w ta'ala = God almighty) open our hearts to the meaning of why we’re here.... –– sampled & paraphrased from Hamza Yusuf I just walk, I don't dance, I don't talk, I just rant I don't rap, I just chant, Pray for me, I'm in a trance I just walk, I don't dance, I don't talk, I just rant I don't rap, I just chant, Pray for me, I'm in a trance I just walk, (like Jesus) I don't dance (I don't need it) I don't talk, (I'm just breathing) I just rant (please believe it) I don't rap, I just chant Pray for me, I'm in a trance If I was your God, I'd let you stand up And I'd give hand out, without needing your hands up The way I pray is different than the church demands us But I bet the both of us are waiting for some answers Our ancestors met some prophets Sampled what they heard and then retaught it To our preachers, teachers, and leaders in office But each religion reworked for unique political profit Trying to gain a little of power, trying to make a little bit off it Throwing the truth up in the coffin, and they bury it alive They sell you what they tell you in their books and then you buy it You're a sheep and they're the shepherd just trying to keep you in line And they've sold the stories for so long they forget which are lies Now we're hypnotized, memory compromised So we chant and we pray and we try to reorganize But we're prey to the predators lying to closed minds So when you're not lost in prayer, open your closed eyes, or you can pray Pray for me, pray for me now baby We're lost in a trance, got me dancing crazy Religion makes you bow down saying "obey me" But don't blame me, your lies made me lazy, pray. Pray for me, pray for me now baby Hip hop popped then left traps for it's babies Old religion decays as they scream "obey me!" But will science and math really save me? We pray in different ways, with our body, with our mind We bow, and we think, with our hearts, with our spine We meditate in asanas, postulate in poses The beauty of the wonder of awareness it exposes They say they don't pray, they say they don't chant But they say the same words, and they do the same dance Hip hop was teaching new prayers, the people had a chance But then it went Pop and we all went in a trance Now we chant mutherfucker, yeah we pray I'm just talking to myself, I can't hear what you say Hip hop was my religion, but money took it away Left a trap so only crap gets radio play Bitch you better pray, or else you gotta pay I got ‘em on they knees, like every single day Then they tell me they believe me, in every single way They don't know I'm just an idol, and I'm only here to play Pray for me, pray for me now baby I'm lost in a trance, got me dancing crazy God makes you bow down saying "obey me!" But how much will you pay me? Bitch you better pray, or else you gotta pay I got ‘em on they knees, like every single day Then they tell me they believe me, in every single way But I could be a predator and you might be the prey Pray for me, pray for me now baby We're lost in a trance, got me dancing crazy Religion makes you bow down saying "obey me" But don't blame me, your lies made me lazy, pray. Pray for me, pray for me now baby Hip hop popped left traps for it's babies Old religion decays as they scream "obey me" But will science and math really save me? –– rapped by Jack “The Ripper” Horkings back when the Stones had Souls when the Raindrops were Godtears, and the Mountains erected themselves from the Earth of sheer will we winced before their Power Obeisance and Homage Deference to these Forces who could Swallow us whole and we Prayed. that the Scourge would spare us that the Lightning would pass us by that the Food would be plentiful and we Prayed. for Control, for Mercy from a World we felt too human to Heal ... Nowadays we insist that souls are for People We watch the raindrops and the mountains as Enduring Curiosities We are not Allowed to fear the earth anymore only Eachother Our Paper Shredder Carelessness only Disease, the Disembowelment, the Loss only being Consumed by the Greed, the Desire the more,More,MORE,MORE,MORE,More, more and we Pray. that the Scourge will spare us that the Breaking will pass us by that the Splendor will be plentiful and we Pray for Control, for Mercy from a World we still feel too Human to heal The Forces still Swallow us still Pull up foundations like handfuls of wires sparking there are so many things that we do not Know that we cannot Do what a Waste to mourn our Fragility never to Flex against these ropes, to Kick at these hinges we will not Grow this malnourished, not see the Majesty of the Universe with our heads bent to clasped hands not Run with legs limped put down you Hymnals put away your Wishful Thoughts All That We Have Built For Ourselves is pittance to what we will accomplish yet if YOU still feel too Human to Heal this World YOU do not KNOW what it MEANS to be HUMAN –– spoken by Marshall “Gripp” Gillson

Jack The Ripper, The Mad Psyentist The Five Pillars EP The people had a hut, inside it was their idols Each claimed it was the only one, the rest were lying rivals A prophet killed then all but one, they wondered why he did When you're little Gods die, ask the One that lives Theres only 1 God, 1 King, 1 President Multiple opinions are irrelevant, fuck hesitance To jumping off the precipice, have faith in us, invest in this Take culture, make a nest in it, I'll breed and cause a mess of it And profit off the rest of it, cry about it pessimist ‘Cause even if I hurt you you'll buy my pills for depression bitch I convinced you I'm the only right way You believe you want to leave me but you think you've gotta stay I'm the one, they're ain’t none other All this bitches is my sons, yeah, word to ya mother And I'm tripping on my power, there ain't no way of stopping me There's only one God, yeah that Bitch has a monopoly You think you know God, you don't even know yourself Theres sub atomic particles, and elements, and cells 11 Dimensions–never mind just heaven and hell If there's only one God, I hope It's done the math well Well my God says your God's not one And that religion over there's got a lot of ‘em I said God damn, that ain't fair someone stop them God called them impostors, so we shot them (BANG) Heads or tails, call it what you like There's more than one right, in this world of men and mice If I die once, that's only half a dice Gods never wrong, but did we do the math right? (Oh) Ying or Yang, call it what you like There's more than one truth in this world of men and mice If we don't believe in self, then there ain't no way of stoping me If God created everything, then it's beyond monopoly If there is a God It couldn't be an individual The Dali Lama ain't even a person, it's residual We can agree that God is pan dimensional, invisible As well as the supreme judge of all laws physical But is it indivisible? Why do you need it to be? The clergy make a book, and you sheep just say feed it to me But if I made you look, they'd call me crazy immediately But Stephen Hawkins agrees, now is Jesus competing with me? We turn around and say to them "you must believe in Science It's proven by our method lack of faith would be defiance You can read it in the records, NIH or FDA" (But the latter lies for money, and the formers underpaid)   They call their drugs 'good,' but they don't grow that pot shit And so they call it bad cause they cant use it for a profit Bureaucracy pays scientists to force the facts to give in Politics taints science just like all religion The people had a hut, inside it was their idols Each claimed it was only one, the rest were lying rivals A prophet killed then all but one, they wondered why he did When you're little Gods die, ask the One that lives Try to count God, you'll turn it to commodity  You sell it for its strength and shun others as an oddity Your God is name brand, my God is raw matterial It's everywhere and everything and energy ethereal  They said there's one God, and then they sell it to the masses And if they can't market it they go and repackage We enslave ourselves to given patriarch masters Some call a God a father but we're really both bastards We read the same chapters, translated and edited And everybody stays inline, on the same sedative Prophets sampled other prophets, many uncredited And everyone makes money off it cause we're all competitive Or maybe we're indebted to our culture as a whole So we kill, lie, rape, steal and hate for great goals When's it right? When's it wrong? I'm unsure. Can you tell? I can't narrow it down, I hope you've done the math well Well my God says your God's not one And that religion over there's got a lot of ‘em I said God damn, that ain't fair someone stop them God called them impostors, so we shot them (Bang) Heads or tails, call it what you like There's more than one right, in this world of men and mice If I die once, that's only half a dice God's never wrong, but did we do the math right? (Oh) Ying or Yang, call it what you like There's more than one truth in this world of men and mice If we don't believe in self, then there ain't no way of stoping me If God created everything, then It's beyond monopoly If there is a God...that mutherfucker’s been around a lot longer than numbers, let me tell you... And that God’s been around longer than your religion Your prophets are young, Your numbers are young Businessmen just need single items ss they can sell them to you in packages Don’t believe the hype... Heads or tails, call it what you like There's more than one right, in this world of men and mice If I die once, that's only half a dice God's never wrong, but did we do the math right? (Oh) Ying or Yang, call it what you like There's more than one truth in this world of men and mice If we don't believe in self, then there ain't no way of stoping me If God created everything, then It's beyond monopoly

Give 04:48
Give a fuck, gimme a break Gimme a second Let me just give you a taste Give a fuck, gimme a break Gimme a second, let me give you a taste I don't how much more I can take Life is a gift we should share what we make So we give a little, just to get a little back I can live with giving this, if you give a bit of that We think we're giving freedom but we might be making traps That's why we've got ghettos in the motherland and Iraq Be true with how you give, be careful what you take But I guess it's good to give even if you're being fake Donating something for respect is really just a trade though And if you cause dependence, you're just putting them a cage yo The culture that gave us copyright law was built on theft It's a give and take, laws do the latter, now nothing's left They protect intellectual property That never really belonged to them properly Ideas aren't yours, nor the sounds that you make You made them, they escaped, now it's out there to take Integrate, recycled, rebirth, reset We all sample the past, and they'll get the present next so I Give a fuck, gimme a break Gimme a second, let me give you a taste I don't how much more I can take Life is a gift we should share what we make So I give it up, give it up, give it up You gotta give to take, but now they got you stuck Saying give it up, give it up, give it up Let em know you won't take not giving a fuck If you don't give a fuck, you won't get shit But if you only give to get is that still legit? If you only help others so you get into heaven Is it greedy? Dishonest? Wrong or irreverent? That's irrelevant to people in need They'll take food even if it's bad for them, they got people to feed But if you do not give them seeds and make training attainable You make their lifestyle dependent and unsustainable The government gives us protection, also suppression Then sell fake drugs when they cause you're depression But we gave them power, and then we gave up Now we don't give a damn, and they don't give a fuck And now we're all stuck, follow laws not morals Break trust not bread, fuck love we quarrel Wage war; I take what they made and I make more And I give it up to those that gave before, ‘cause I try to give a fuck Give a fuck, gimme a break Gimme a second, let me give you a taste I don't how much more I can take Life is a gift we should share what we make So I give it up, give it up, give it up You gotta give to take, but now they got you stuck Saying give it up, give it up, give it up Let em know that you won't take not giving a fuck Give it up, give it up, what you got for me? All I am is what I know, but you could get a lot from me All we are is what we give back, we reedit the facts From the past and direct a new path Give it up, give it up, what you got for me? All I am is what I know, but you could get a lot from me All we are is what we give back, we re-edit the facts From the past and direct a new path So you should give a fuck, because you have effect Even if you laugh and think it's all so indirect What you say feel hear see think and do Effects everyone eventually and creates you Our sculptors go uncredited, we sample self from others I think just like my friends and teachers, father and my mother The Psyentist has sampled voices, I sample religion They gave their history to me, I make it something different Then I give it to your children, say "consider how your living" I hope we'll be forgiven, must be careful what we give them Be careful with your life, take care of what you live in Regardless of beginnings, it's the universe you're given Give a fuck, gimme a break Gimme a second, let me give you a taste I don't how much more I can take Life is a gift we should share what we make, so I Give it up, give it up, what you got for me? All I am is what I know, but you could get a lot from me All we are is what we give back, we reedit the facts From the past and direct a new path Give it up, give it up, what you got for me? All I am is what I know, but you could get a lot from me All we are is what we give back, we re-edit the facts From the past and direct a new path Give a fuck, gimme a break Gimme a second, let me give you a taste I don't how much more I can take Life is a gift we should share what we make So I give it up, give it up, give it up You gotta give to take, but now they got you stuck Saying give it up, give it up, give it up Let em know that you won't take not giving a fuck Be careful with your life, take care of what you live in Regardless of beginnings, it's the universe you're given Be careful with your life, take care of what you live in Regardless of beginnings, it's the universe you're given I said careful with your life, care for what you live in Regardless of beginnings, it's the universe you're given Be careful with your life, take care of what you live in Regardless of beginnings, it's the universe you're given Jack The Ripper, Mad Psyentist

Hajj 04:50
Buddha's tree, the burning bush It pulls me in, but then again was I pushed?   You know where to go because they showed where'd to go And your brain is so fast but your feet are too slow And the thoughts in your train of them may go against the flow You become an Outkast, without a place to grow   They tell me get degrees, I hit the ivy league But that won't get me a job making MP3s It's closer to true, but you'll find they're fables The name of your school is the new designer label   Did you see it? Did you touch it? Did you do it? Did you check it off the list, and act like there's like nothing to it We're pilgrims, looking for a prophet To follow their path till we can make something off it   Often I find myself lost in, the multitude of options Maybe I should kill a tree and carve my own coffin Gotta make it to the promised land I must arrive, can't you understand You must do, as it was done in the past Left right left, follow this path Never stray, obey and don't look back Right left right, follow his path Gotta make it to the top of the mountain      or you'll end up in the bottom of the hole How many places have you been, are you counting?      better run now for your time is getting old   Gotta make it to the holy land      so that you can shake his holy hand Gotta make it to the promised promise      if only so that you know you can   Now march, march like a pilgrim If someone tries to interfere kill them Body bag seal them, tell the parents then bill them While tyrannous leaders are fighting wars with their children   Not just Kony, there's also two Bushes And even Obama when the shoves come to pushes Coming to kick yo mutherfucking tushes, team America Run up in yo country gunning, we ain't fucking scared of ya   What you smoking, fairy dust? The US is nefarious Patriots till they the bury us, that means we live delirious Our party lines are deleterious, all the people are fake They're all steady paced in the same rat race   Thinking that they gotta be in place at the right time Gotta go to law school, you're resumes you're life line Time line on Facebook, go ahead and like mine The limelight's my Mecca so I grind day and night time   If I died right now, I'd say I had a great time Yes I have pain in mind but don't erase mine Just keep playing my tracks, and feel the bass line I'll be in your ears when it's too late for face time You must do, what's true or makes you laugh      Right or wrong, follow your own path Never stray, obey what you say are facts      Wrong or right, follow your own path Gotta make it to the top of the mountain      or you'll end up in the bottom of the hole How many places have you been, are you contain      better run now for your time is getting old   Gotta make it to the holy land      so that you can shake his holy hand Gotta make it to the promised promise      if only so that you know you can    Now march, march like a Pilgrim March, march like a Pilgrim Don’t worry about all these things, do what you have to do within the constrains of dignified behavior and with you humanity intact because don’t let you enemy take your humanity from you. So the challenge is, can you rise above? Can you transcend the incidentals of difference to achieve the unity of the essentials? Can you do that? Are you able to rise above the incidentals of color, of sex, of wealth... –– sampled & paraphrased from Hamza Yusuf Gotta make it to the top of the mountain      or you'll end up in the bottom of the hole How many places have you been, are you contain      better run now for your time is getting old   Gotta make it to the holy land      so that you can shake his holy hand Gotta make it to the promised promise      if only so that you know you can Now march. Gotta make it to the top– Gotta make it to the top– Gotta make it to the top of the mountain Gotta make it to the top... And his prayer was: Lord, make me an instrument of your peace; where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is doubt, let me sow faith; where there is despair, let me sow hope; where there is darkness, let me sow light; where there is sadness, let me sow joy And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life... –– sampled & paraphrased from Hamza Yusuf
